about
We're facing the gates of Atlantis. The one, mythical Atlantis, lost in the eternal gardens of our history, of which this pale present simulacrum isn't but a crude scrawl. Among the rubble, with the settling of the dust, the grand gates of Atlantis unveil before our eyes , but who dares to take the first step ahead?
Brazilian poet Alex Sugamosto's word, animated in Andras Atlason's voice and immortalized in the sonic eternal, gathers with a violent fusion of musical and visual gimmick to build a severe portrait of the human condition and, why not, also a portrait of Brazil.
"Nos Portões de Atlântida" ("Við grindir Atlantis" or "At the Gates of Atlantis") is a song that sings of pulling hope back out of misery; of rejecting Chaos and longing for the Garden of Eden.
lyrics
"Viemos dos jardins eternos
Morada e tempo original
Agora, contudo, mais nada esperamos
A terra agoniza debaixo do pó
E as ilhas desertas cobertas de lama
Seus homens caíram na inquinação.
São as ondas mortas e as vazantes turvas (a lamentar)
Na vida exposta
Às flores vis do mal.
São as ondas mortas e as vazantes turvas, mudas
Vencida a Glória,
São as ondas mortas e as vazantes turvas (a lamentar)
Na vida exposta
Às flores vis do mal.
São as ondas mortas e as vazantes turvas, mudas
Vencida a Glória,
nos portões de Atlântida."
